§ IV · On ourselves

Students of the organisation.

We are also abstract dreamers and lovers of wisdom — and we believe that the power of words is the foundation of all human civilisation.

We aim to infuse society with meaning. We intend to do this by being trusted partners to the only form that society had, has, and will have: the organisation.i

Big and small, new and old, public and private, profit and non-profit — organisations are the mechanisms that transform abstract ideas into manifested reality.ii Through them we shape our surroundings. They are more diverse and varied than the life-forms of our planet.

We are students of the organisation. We are also abstract dreamers and lovers of wisdom. We believe in the power of words as the foundation of all human civilisation.iii

The ideal with the KPI. The cultural with the economic. The archaic with the technological. The timeless with the timely.

§ The four harmonies we pursue

We intend to help harmonise the meaning of being human with the meaning of the organisation. By helping organisations align their values with their value chains — from the world of ideas to the reality of life — we aim to make a better world.

§ IV.ii · On our method

Six principles that govern the work.

Principle № I

Partnership, not vending.

We do not deliver engagements; we enter practices. We work beside leadership as thinking partners, at the tempo of consequential decisions — not the tempo of project plans.

Principle № II

Words as foundation.

The precision of language determines the precision of strategy. We labour over every definition before we labour over any decision — because a well-named problem is already half-solved.

Principle № III

Signal over noise.

Most organisations suffer not from scarcity of information but from abundance of it. Our first act is almost always subtraction — helping clients see what is actually there, beneath what has accumulated.

Principle № IV

Long before loud.

We favour the slow compounding insight over the dramatic pivot. Most of what matters about an organisation becomes visible on the scale of years, not quarters — and so we work on that scale.

Principle № V

Values into value chains.

A value is not a value until it survives contact with operations. We translate what the organisation believes into how the organisation behaves — every day, in every decision, with every cent.

Principle № VI

Beauty as audit.

When an organisation becomes beautiful — internally coherent, outwardly elegant, clear in gesture — it is usually because something truer has been uncovered beneath it. Beauty is a sign of alignment.
